Madigan made… recent vintage finds.
Hi there! After our laptop crashed this week, we did buy a new computer. Yay! But our cloud back-up is still loading up my photos onto our new system. (Apparently, I have a LOT of photos! Hehehe.)
SO, I thought I’d pull several photos off my phone and show you some of the fun things I spotted this summer in antique stores and thrift stores. Some of these things I bought… others I just drooled over.
Let’s go virtual window shopping together, shall we?
Back in June, my parents met us in the Sandhills area of North Carolina for a little golf and antiquing trip. (The guys went golfing, the gals went shopping!) That’s where I found my vintage hankies, fun Pyrex bowls and spotted some blue cobalt glass (that I later knocked off).
But I spotted a bunch of other fun finds on that trip, too. I did not buy these items, but couldn’t resist snapping a few photos to show you.
Gorgeous, old wooden bowls.
Pretty blue Ball mason jars in a window.
A lovely Lucite lamp. With a modern, square shade on it… it would be instantly hip today.
Vintage golf prints that would’ve looked cool in our sport-themed basement. (but a little out of my thrifty budget)
THE find of the trip! A long apothecary console that was removed from a local pharmacy. It had no back to it… but loads of little drawers. Check out the white glass knobs… each one had a different chemical name or compound printed on it. Considering I’m a pharmacist… and the color was was a beautiful shade of red… I fell MADLY in love with this piece.
Sadly, it was too long to fit in our SUV… otherwise this beauty would’ve come home with me!!
And on top of that antiquing trip… I’ve been popping into thrift stores all summer-long to snag pretty, vintage floral plates. I have a big project in store for these plates… I can’t wait to show you!
I also recently picked up this gold bamboo frame. The creepy owl I can do without… but I loved the thick frame and mat. What would you do with this frame?
You never know what you are going to find when you are out, right? It makes for a fun shopping adventure!
Have you picked up or spotted any great finds this summer?
TGIF! Have a wonderful (and hopefully crafty!) weekend!
