I talked a little bit about it last week, but I’m embracing pink this spring. I never was much of a ‘pink’ girl, but it is growing on me. As I mentioned, I prefer the darker and deep pinks over pale pinks. And come on, pink is a happy color!
For Easter, I’m loving pink and green together. It is fresh and a little preppy. In this display I tried to use both dark and pale pinks. (To be honest, I did not want to go out and spend the money on dark pink flowers, when I already had some leftover flowers from past seasons.)
I can handle the combo, as long as I bring pink and green in as accents… with lots of white.
If you read this blog, you know I love white pottery and white objects.
So, for this display I shopped my house to find some white containers. I added eggs and some flowers for spring and Easter touches. The flowers in the soup tureen are silk, but tulips are real.
Once the tulips die, this display will need a little more pink, so I likely will bring in the pink vase I showed you last week in this post.
If you were here Saturday, you already heard about my disastrous Easter wreath ‘fail’ with malted milk balls.
Yes, silly me tried to hot glue chocolate malted milk balls to a wreath. It was, quite literally, a hot mess. Read more about that misadventure in this post.
So I separated out the pink and white balls and stuck some of them in this little petal bowl.
The past few weeks I had my hands on several little Easter bunnies that I wanted to spray paint, and other cute spring decor. But I resisted the urge to buy a bunch of stuff this season.
I love the fact that except for the wreath, everything else in this display I had on hand around the house. And I made the wreath with stuff I already had in my craft stash. (stay tuned for a wreath tut tomorrow!)
I’m linking to Censational Girl’s Spring Link Party.
I wish I had a mantel to decorate. But according to Beth, you don’t need a mantel to link to her Spring Mantel Party! You just need a decorated flat surface. So I’m adding this post!
