Madigan made… a simple storage tip.
How do you store your paper and fabric?
I find that my wire shelving is the simplest and cheapest way to keep my pretties in order.
I mentioned this tip briefly in my post about my craft area storage and I thought it was worth showing you a little more. I first saw this idea at a friend’s house who had a scrapbooking room. I made my own set of shelves using her concept.
I bought a basic wire shelving unit. (You know, the 3 x 3 cube shelves from the big box store) But I did not put it together using all 9 cubes.
Instead, I used several of the shelves and ‘hung’ them within the shelving structure. I attached the loose panels to the wire grids using plastic zip ties.
I can’t remember if I used 2 or 3 shelving sets to make these 3 shelves. (And as I write this, it’s too late for me to do the math and count the panels!)
I’ve seen some paper storage crates in craft stores that look very similar to my shelves but cost a ton more money. The zip ties are not polished or perfect – but they get the job done.
It is a simple idea for shelving and it works for me in my craft area.
