MAKE: easy DIY Cookie Monster party ideas.
I am no stranger to sweets. I love candy, cakes and just about anything with chocolate. I expected that my daughter would feel the same.
I have a toddler that just turned two last month. She actually doesn’t love many sweet treats (Who doesn’t like ice cream??) BUT she loves cookies and she loves Cookie Monster, too! This seemed like a natural theme for her birthday party this year.
So, this week on my YouTube channel, I shared how easy it was to make Cookie Monster inspired party crafts for my toddler’s birthday party.
Want to make your own Cookie Monster image? All you basically need are a bunch of circle shapes and you can make invites, favors and decorations. These projects were so easy and simple!
I made a very basic invitation for the party out of card stock. I printed the desired information on the paper and just added a monster face to the front of the card.
I used the same shapes in vinyl to create easy favor bags to hold cookies. I was hoping it looked like the monster was eating the cookie? Maybe?
Then, I combined more circle shapes to create decorations out of plastic blue dollar store plates. We set them out around the party and next to the cake for easy decor. You also could use them as plate chargers or hang them on the wall with poster tape.
Finally, I used round paper lanterns to make Cookie Monster inspired centerpieces for our table. A couple of foam balls and black buttons added dimension to the piece.
So, if you have a child that loves Sesame Street and Cookie Monster, you’ve gotta make these crafts for their party. Or… maybe just because you love cookies and Cookie Monster??!

Project tips and supplies
(similar to what I used – some links are affiliates. Please read my disclosure statement for more details.)
*** To make a simple cookie monster face out of paper or craft vinyl you need 4 different circle shapes:
- FACE: 3.5 inch circle punch
- MOUTH: 2.5 inch circle punch
- EYEBALL: 1 inch circle punch
- IRIS: 0.75 inch circle punch
*I encourage you to shop around for these circle punches. They are a great craft tool to have in your stash and I use mine all the time! With a coupon, a punch can often be bought at the local craft store cheaper than listed above.

P.S. Facebook is not allowing me to officially change the name of my FB Page, so I’ve been forced to create a new page for Rosyscription.
Would you be a rosy bud and go over to THAT page and give it a LIKE?? Thank you! I eventually will stop posting on the Madigan Made FB page… and I know I’d miss you!
