MAKE: video review of how to make thumbtack covered pumpkins.
I will be the first to admit that I am fickle when it comes to holiday decorating. While I might have a lot of different decorations, it is rare that I use them in the same way each year. And I often make or buy new decorations each season, too. Or I might remix them by adding black dots or faces to them like the easy black and white décor I made this year. Sometimes your decorations needs a little update, right?
Well, there is one fall DIY craft I made that never bores me. I love pulling out my gold thumbtack covered pumpkins! Setting out that gold trio of gourds adds something very autumnal to a room… Instant bling. Instant ambience. Instant fall glow.
Sigh. LOVE THEM.
Now, I’ve shared with you that these pumpkins were not made in an instant… in fact, each one took a very long time to make. But pushing thumbtacks into foam pumpkins was a simple, rhythmic and semi-mindless activity that I could do in front of the television, etc. Worth. every. effort.
In case you missed these gorgeous gold gourds, I shared how I made them with my YouTube viewers. (Have you subscribed to my channel yet? Click here to subscribe for fun, new videos!)
Check out the video and watch as I attempt to eat one of the pumpkins. (Just kidding… don’t do that! When I re-watch that shot, I have flashbacks of the Alligator King and his Seven Sons from when I was a kid!)
Love these sparkly beauties. Do you have any seasonal decorations that you never tire of?
