MAKE: an easy marbled glass ornament craft with nail polish paint.
There was a time in my life when I probably painted a glass object at least once a month, maybe more. I love working with glass paint, but it has been a long time since I painted any glass item, and I definitely haven’t painted glass with nail polish in a very long time.
Using nail polish for crafts is fun. I love how nail polish often has some depth in its color… maybe a little sparkle or metallic sheen. That effect can add a unique finish to a surface of a craft project (even paper cards!).
I don’t know about you, but I have loads of random bottles of nail polish in my bathroom. I keep buying all these pretty colors but I’m terrible at maintaining a regular manicure!
If you share the same problem, put that paint to use somewhere else… on an ornament! Raid your nail polish drawer and paint glass ornaments with a beautiful marbled technique!
I’m sharing this simple ornament craft this week on my YouTube channel.
I will warn you that I ran into a couple of obstacles during this crafting session. The project was almost a craft fail! After a little practice, I figured out a few problems and then the marbling method was easy to do… and kinda fun. (If you don’t count all the nail polish remover I needed when I made mistakes!)
Learn what to do and what not to do so you can create one of these gorgeous globes!
