MAKE: DIY Glitter Filled Ornament Craft.
Around here, holiday crafting season always involves a little glitter. OK, a LOT of glitter.
I love crafting with glitter. I’ve made glitter filled ornaments before using decoupage. They turned out beautiful but after I saw how easy it was to make glitter filled glass containers with floor wax recently. (Remember my DIY upcycled Christmas light bulbs?) I knew I had to try this easy crafting method with ornaments. To add a little more interest to the ornament, I used a little white paint to the bottom of each one for a dipped, frosted look.
I wasn’t planning on it… but the brown glitter and white paint on this disc glass shape kinda reminds me of black and white frosted cookies, don’t you think? Mmmm. Cookies.
But I’m getting off topic here! You can make these ornaments using any shape, I just happened to have these disc shaped ones. I think traditional, plain globes would be gorgeous with glitter inside and dipped paint on the bottom, too.
Learn how to create these sparkly decorations and watch this weekend’s YouTube video for the details. This ornament craft couldn’t be simpler!

SUPPLIES USED TO MAKE GLITTER FILLED ORNAMENTS:
(Links below are shopping and affiliate links for your convenience.*)
- Glass ornaments (round or the disc-shaped ones like these )
- Floor wax cleaner
- Glitter
- Waste bowl
- Isopropyl alcohol
- Small funnel (I made mine from paper)
- White frosted nail polish (or white frosted craft paint for glass like this one )
I love how the frosted paint adds a little more interest to each ornament… so pretty! I can’t wait to put them on our tree soon.
We are probably going to set up our tree this week, how about you? Ours is sure to be filled with sparkle!
