GLOW: with a fruity skincare gift & DIY glitter covered “fruit” bowl.
My regular readers know this already but… I love glitter. I also love cute things.
What you may not know about me is that I love skincare. I’m a bit of a product junkie lately.
About a year ago, I found this charming red apple hand cream and gifted it to my daughter’s day care teachers. That little apple was my gateway to learning more about Korean skincare products and the general Korean skincare approach, which is multi-step and allows for lots of customization.
That apple cream is made by a Korean company called TonyMoly and they make a bunch of skincare products in fun packaging. Lots and lots of fruit shaped cuteness!
I recently checked a few items off of my DIY/skincare bucket list and shared them in this week’s video:
- I wanted to work with spray glitter. Check.
- I wanted to try more fruit shaped skincare products so I could soak in their cuteness. Check.
- I needed to combine all these elements to make one big, sparkly, sweet smelling fruit bowl. Check!
I know. I have a sparkle tooth. How have I not tried spray glitter yet?
I will say that the glitter spray was very easy to use and coated my bowl with a fine glitter shell. This method would be great if you wanted a little sparkle on something but didn’t want that dusty glitter mess. I did need to seal it in with a clear acrylic spray afterwards. It is not a waterproof or super-durable finish but I just plan to use my bowl to hold skincare products or maybe holiday décor.
This DIY (skincare) fruit bowl idea would make a great gift for someone you know who loves cute packaging and skincare. Save this idea for their birthday? Christmas? Mother’s Day? Teacher appreciation?
But, honestly, this sparkly little bowl of fruit was a gift to myself! I work in healthcare and I’m constantly washing my hands or using hand sanitizer, so I love a nice hand cream or two.
While these are not the best hand creams I’ve ever tried, they are nice, lightweight and smell delicious! Once I’m done with these fruit hand creams and lip glosses, I plan to wash the containers out for pretend play with my daughter. (They are the perfect size for her and a great way to recycle!)
Watch this week’s video to hear more about these products and see how I made the bowl. (full product list below)

I also have a few ideas on how to wrap the bowl. If you wanted to download my free printable gift tags to go with your fruit bowl, click HERE or the picture above.
I’ve fallen in love with skincare products from Korean lately. They are SO much more than just cute packaging and have really changed my skin for the better this last year. If you are interested in hearing more about why I love the Korean skincare philosophy, let me know!
