GLOW: with an easy DIY makeup tray hack.
This time of year I get in an organizing mood. Do you?
My makeup stash needed some updating recently and I thought you might find my storage system helpful. Honestly, I don’t wear a lot of makeup, but I find makeup fun and I love discovering new products.
I used to store my makeup in cutlery drawer organizers. All of the pockets were great for my products, but the plastic containers easily got gunky and became difficult to clean over time. (No matter how many times I put them through the dishwasher! Ugh.)
About a year ago when I was going through my makeup, I looked around my house and decided to try and use a tray that I already owned to store my makeup. I just needed a liner that could simply be removed for cleaning.
Enter… coffee filters! They were the perfect solution for me to create pockets in my own tray. (Plus, this hack cost me nothing!!) I loved that I could customize the size and shape of the layout. When the tray liner got a little nasty, I just threw out the filters and created a new pocket design.
I recently updated my tray and organized my makeup again.
Check out this week’s video to see how easy it is to put this DIY makeup tray together: (And my lip tint collection… that I hardly ever wear but can’t bear to part with because the containers are so cute!)
