MAKE: DIY marbled crafts for Mother’s Day.
I have a new crafting mantra: Marble all the things!
I loved last week’s mermaid-inspired candy bark. I loved it so much that I wanted to recreate that swirly blue and green pattern on other stuff!
So, since Mother’s Day was coming up, I thought marbling would be a fun technique to use on handmade gifts. I tried two different techniques to create that marbled look… I used shaving cream and I also tried nail polish.
The process was a little messy (OK, a LOT messy) but love how the projects turned out! These are simple crafts that can be made with kids. My daughter helped me with the shaving cream versions. The nail polish one is a little trickier but would be fun with older children. (I learned a few lessons from the marbled ornaments I made last year.)
Watch this week’s video and see how we made easy handmade marbled paper and turned it into an elegant DIY card. See a cheap wood frame transform into a marbled decor item. Learn how to use nail polish and marble a mug!
I love the wavy and scalloped patterns we got on these objects! They remind me of the water, waves and mermaids. These simple DIY gift ideas are perfect for gifts or beach-themed home decor.
